  1st Touch is currently seeking motivated individuals for the roles listed below.

Implementation Consultant

This role is field based, covering much of the UK and potentially Europe. Part of a team of consultants, reporting to the Project Manager, this individual will take full responsibility for the implementation of the 1st Touch modules defined with the scope of each customer project assigned to them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and demonstrate a clear understanding of the requirements of each implementation project prior to starting the work.
  • Provide a realistic timeframe for the delivery of each element of the project to the project manager.
  • Deliver each element of the project in line with the stated timeframes.

Minimum Requirements:The individual will preferably be qualified to degree level, hold a full UK driving licence and be resident in the UK.

Essential Experience:
•  .NET Framework 5 yrs+
•  C# .NET 3 yrs+
•  SQL Server 3 yrs+
•  JavaScript 3 yrs+
•  HTML/CSS 3 yrs+
•  ASP.NET web forms (ASPX) 2 yrs+

Essential Skills:
•  .NET Framework principles (memory management, language constructs, etc)
•  Object-orientated programming
•  Design patterns
•  Problem solving
•  Strong verbal communication skills
•  Strong writing communication skills

Desirable Experience:
•  Knowledge of service orientated techniques
•  Knowledge of distributed programming 

Desirable Skills:
•  Windows Mobile/CE
•  Android Java
•  BlackBerry Java
•  Apple iOS Objective-C

Job Summary: This individual will take full responsibility for the implementation of the 1st Touch features that they have elected to carry out or had assigned to them.  This includes the testing, documenting and on-going maintenance footprint associated with the original code.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deduce a clear requirement through articulate debate with the appropriate parties (e.g. Support and Development Manager, other Developers, 1st Touch partners) prior to commencing the work.
• Provide a realistic timeframe for the delivery of each feature of the project to the Support and Development Manager.  This may be within the confines of the Agile/Sprint planning process or as a single estimate on a piece of isolated work.
• Ensure that the requirements system (TFS) is kept fully updated with the Product Backlog Items and Sprint Backlog Items (or methodology specific items) so as to provide an audit trail of the work being undertaken.
• Implement each feature taking account of the following:
o Demonstrating sound design skills in order to maximise code re-use and maximise code readability
o Honour the current coding standards
o Design components in a manner which facilitates testing using techniques such as Dependency Injection
o Incorporate appropriate error handling (or error raising) which will enable issue diagnostics within the support rather than development team
o Test components and features adequately to prevent the necessity to produce patches and updates for released software
o Produce documentation which support and implementation consultants want to use in preference to making contact
• Implement each bug fix according to the following principles:
o Reproduce the bug in a development environment and a develop a solution to match
o If the bug cannot be reproduced, increase the logging and diagnostic capability of the affected area such that a solution can be developed in a successive iteration
• Produce gold builds and perform system testing when preparing a formal software release
• Provide articulate rounded advice to Implementation Consultants when asked to review proposed developments
• Present a professional image of 1st Touch at all times including dealings with 1st Touch customers, 1st Touch partners and 3rd party supplier organisations.
• Provide high quality information to the Support and Development Manager regarding any proposed developments or product bugs that are encountered including accurate impact assessment.
• Provide high quality and conscientious cover for the Support department.
